Monkey Pox Virus Infection – How to Avoid Deadly Disease.
Monkey Pox Virus Infection… This article will guide you on what Monkey Pox Virus is all about, how it can be infected and how to overcome the virus. Stay focus and read through.

Monkey Pox Virus Infection

Monkey Pox Virus is a deadly virus which can be contacted from a wild animal called Monkey as the primary source of contact. WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO) defines this horrible disease (Monkeypox) as a rare viral zoonosis (a virus transmitted to humans from animals) with symptoms in humans similar to those seen in the past in smallpox patients, although less severe. Smallpox was eradicated in 1980. However, Monkeypox still occurs sporadically in some parts of Africa.

Important Fact you Should Know About the Viral Infection – MonkeyPox

  1. The primary source of contact is from a monkey, whether through eating inadequately cooked monkey meat or meat of an infected animal.
  2. The secondary channel of transmission is from human to human, especially through body fluid.
  3. Another channel of contact is contact with materials contaminated with the virus.
  4. The illness can be fatal in humans, between one per cent and 10 per cent, with most deaths occurring in younger age groups.
  5. There is no treatment or vaccine available, although prior smallpox vaccination was highly effective in prevention.
  6. Its incubation period is from six to 16 days, but it can also range from five to 21 days.
  7. Its symptoms could last from 14 to 21 days.
  8. The invasion period could last from zero to five days.
  9. The symptoms include fever, intense headache, back pain, abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy, muscular pains and lymphadenopathy.
  10. Physical manifestation include skin eruption, with 95 per cent on the face and 75 per cent on palms of the hands and sole of feet
  11. Rashes, characterised by flat, red spot on the skin, covered with small confluent bumps
  12. If there is no symptom from either partners, there is no need to create tension at home

Signs and Symptoms

In humans, the symptoms of monkeypox are similar to but milder than the symptoms of smallpox. Monkeypox begins with fever, headache, muscle aches, and exhaustion. The main difference between symptoms of smallpox and monkeypox is that monkeypox causes lymph nodes to swell (lymphadenopathy) while smallpox does not. The incubation period (time from infection to symptoms) for monkeypox is usually 7−14 days but can range from 5−21 days. The illness begins with:
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches
  • Backache
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Chills
  • Exhaustion
Within 1 to 3 days (sometimes longer) after the appearance of fever, the patient develops a rash, often beginning on the face then spreading to other parts of the body.
Lesions progress through the following stages before falling off:
  • Macules
  • Papules
  • Vesicles
  • Pustules
  • Scabs

How to Escape and Avoid being infected

These are some of the tips suggested by the LUTH CMD:
  1. Avoid eating monkey meat for now
  2. Cook all animal products thoroughly
  3. Avoid body contact with an infected person
  4. Say no to unnecessary touching like handshakes
  5. Maintain very high index of suspicion
  6. Health officers must use protective devices, such as hand gloves
  7. Report to the hospital if you observe strange feeling
  8. Wash your hands regularly
  9. During slaughtering of animal, avoid contact with the animal’s fluid
  10. Avoid food items like monkey meat, particularly if not properly cooked
  11. Avoid roasting of monkey meat prior to consumption as most, not all, of the bacteria are destroyed by heat

Remedy for Monkey Pox Virus

Well, as it stands now there is no remedy/treatment or vaccine available although prior smallpox vaccination was highly effective in preventing Monkey Pox Virus as well.

11 Healthy Eating Tips For The Active College Student

11 Healthy Eating Tips For The Active College Student.
Healthy Eating Tips For The Active College Student Eating a healthy meal is good for you, even if you’re a busy college student. It will help you feel and perform better both at mental and physical activities in school. However, the average college student is pressed for time

11 Healthy Eating Tips For The Active College Student

When academic workload is much and assignments are piling, you may find little or no time to settle down to a healthy meal. You don’t have the time to whip up a good home-made cooking. This is especially so, if you’re on a low budget, which is the case for many students.
So between rushing to make the morning lecture, assignments and deadlines, and then returning home late (tired and hungry) most evenings, you don’t eat well.  Sometimes, you don’t even eat at all.
However, even if you’re a student, no matter how busy your schedule is, you must realize that skipping meals or eating inadequately will be detrimental to your overall good health and mental alertness. This will have a negative impact on your focus with your academic activities, which is not what you’d want. On the other hand, if you know how to eat and what to eat, you’re on your way to being an active, healthy student.

Healthy eating habits

1. Eat breakfast: Do all you can to ensure you don’t miss breakfast. It’s not for nothing that breakfast is called the most important meal of the day. Countless studies have shown the important of eating in the morning. So even if you’re utterly busy and pressed for time, try to put some food in your stomach in the morning before stepping out and starting the day’s activities. Be it a piece of snacks, a cup of tea or coffee, a few slices of bread. Eat something.
2. Cut down on fast food: Even if you must, go for snacks with low caloric content. Limit your intake of processed and deep fried snacks. Eat some healthy snacks like cheese, fried potato and akara with pap. Ultimately, eat light if you have to be in class. If you eat heavy meals, it might slow you down for the first few hours, and you don’t want that.
3. Don’t starve yourself: Many students actually deliberately avoid meals when there’s little or no time on their hand. But when your brains does not get enough supply of nutrients, it might be slow in its function. So eat. Chew on snacks randomly. Have some healthy snack in hand – a piece of fruits, some groundnuts, popcorn, crackers or biscuit, etc. just make a habit of eating, that’s if you’re not battling weight issue. If you’re always studying and being involved in mind-tasking endeavors, then your brain needs to have all the nutrients it can get. The little foods you eat now and then will help to maintain your mental balance and alertness.
4. Eat some calcium-rich foods: If you’re young and active, you need to take care of your bone health. This is not only god for physical fitness for the present, it’s also god for the time when your bones begin to lose mass and density. So eat leafy greens and enjoys your mil as often as you can. It’s good for your overall health, especially as a college student.
5. Limit sugar and alcohol intake: Sugar is high in calories and is one of the most important cause of teeth decay for teens and young adults. Alcohol, on the other hand, has no nutritional benefit. Instead, too much of it will most definitely hamper your coordination, aside from the other health risks it poses for a lot of students.
6. I’d drink more water: if I were you. Have a bottle of water at hand. If you’re always busy, you need to keep your body well hydrated. While drinking beer or a flavored juice drink may cause some harmful side effects, water will do you a world of good. If you’re always on the move, expending a lot of energy running from one lecture hall to another, ensure you drink water always. Your body uses more water when you’re active, so you have to replenish the water as often as you can.
7. Eat what you enjoy: Of course, this is very important. While you’re advised not to indulge in fat-rich fast food diets that are usually high in sugar and calories, you to still eat what you enjoy. Being healthy doesn’t necessarily mean self-torture or starvation. You can still eat some meals that you enjoy, even if you’re a college student. It’s not so often that you get the opportunity to spoil yourself, so relax. Let down your hair once in a while and eat some great meals. You may have to reduce your serving and eat in measure quantity if need be. But try to find a balance and enjoy yourself, college student or not. Generally, this will help to enhance your psychological balance and mental alertness. You tend to perform well if you think clearly.
8. Brain food: As a student, you want to be at the top of your game. You want to stay sharp and alert always. Fortunately, there’s a number of foods that can enhance your brain power. Consider eating fish and egg regularly. Fish contains healthy omega-3 fatty oil that’s good for your brain health. It also contains high protein and choline, ingredients that are helpful for memory enhancement. Coffee, walnuts and avocadoes are also good for your brain development.
9. Fruits and Veggies: Fruits like bananas, oranges and watermelon, as well as eggplant, are great for promoting brain function. They are rich in nutrients like potassium, vitamins and iron that accelerates cells and muscle repair, and improves brain functions as well.
10. Eat balanced meal: In the final analysis, eating healthy for a college student is all about eating a balance diet. Don’t starve your brain of essential nutrients. Eat some beans, rice, wheat and wholesome grain; corn, papa or oatmeal. They’re good for promoting your health and wellness, and they come pretty affordable.
11. Exercise: You should find the time for recreation. Once or twice a week, set time aside for mental and physical recreational activities. You want to relieve stares and keep your brain sound always. That’s the benefits of a good exercise. You don’t have to do something tedious. Some light routine will suffice. Just strive to keep your mind and body active.
Here you have it, some great tips for the active college student. Ensure you maintain a healthy lifestyle that can promote your academic performance.

11 Good Reasons Why Students Fail JAMB.
The Joint Administration and matriculation board has remain a major exams body conducting Universities matriculation examinations (UTME) in all the states of the federal republic of Nigeria. Since her inception, it has been many people’s Achilles hill as they can’t dance to the tune of the exams.
To worsen the whole case, post-UTME that gave students the second chance of getting admission was scrapped out by President Muhammedu Buhari led administration and JAMB was made the only exams body which conducts examinations for those going to the higher institutions. In order to remain on the safe side, there are certain things which every student could do to emerge successfully in the exams.  I bet you, if any candidates can avoid common mistakes attributed to jamb, then success could be theirs.

Reasons Why Students Fail JAMB

Here are 11 good reasons why students fail Jamb

1. Failure to follow the syllables

Jamb syllables have been a veritable tool in the hand of students seeking admission into higher institution. Research has shown that 90 percent of those that excel in Jamb are those who study the syllables comprehensively.
We strongly recommend all candidates to have a take a look at the syllabus for every subject they registered. Pay attention to the subjects you’re anticipated to master and let it guide your studies. This way, you’ll spend no time reading things which are irrelevant to the examination.
Many students have recorded successesin their UME exams because of the adamant study of the syllable.

2. Laisez-faire attitude towards Brochure:

The syllables has been a helpful tool, but many students have dispute the facts that the brochure is another veritable tool for which students can  use to scale through the hurdles of jamb. Studnets preparing for UME have neglected the study of the brochure.  Some register to study a course blindly which may not be offered by their choice university.
Candidates are advised to study the brochure carefully before filling the jamb online registration slip. This will also be a guide on a way to fill the Jamb utility form, help you in making perfect preference of the courses you are intellectually suited.

3. Poor study habits

The word student only comes from the word study. You may follow the brochure and strictly adhere to the registration processes of Jamb, but the truth remains that academic excellent solely depend on veheminent study of your texts books and other recommended books in the syllables.
The ultimate thing to do while preparing for UME exams is to study. A good number of student give the excuse of being so busy, hitherto they can’t study. No matter the tight schedule of a candidate, it is adviceable for a candidate to create time for effective studies.  It will also be advantageous for a candidiate to enroll in extra-moral classes.

4. Failure to register JAMB in time

Time waits for no man- is a popular adage. Tick says the clock tick tick is another adage.  The fact that Jamb offers enough time for its registration is not a ground for candidates to register late for the exams.  Procrastinating to register on time has caused a whole lot of failure in JAMB UME examinations.
Here is how late registration affects candites:
Candidates are given unconducive/unequipped centers.
Some are slated for rural areas for the exams and guess what!
These can cause candidtes to fail.

5. Lack of Speed:

Candidates who apply speed speed in the exams do emerge successfully. JAMB UME examination is not an exams for babies, but for matured minds whob are ready to face the other world of the university. The examiners give a very limited time of about 40 minuites. However, this time waits for no ,man as it ticks every seconds.
Don’t forget this:
You can’t pause the time to do one thing or the order, like having a convenient or answering to the attendance. The time goes very fast and stops automatically for everyone. Whether you came to the exams venue late.id you know that intelligent students still fail Jamb?
Yes! Not because they are not intelligent, but because they do not apply speed.

6. Failure to arrive at the exams venue early

Tears droped from her eyes, I could remember vividly she was a girl, tall and she spoke intelligently. All her tears was in vain, all her pleas was wasted as the invigilator was so tenacious in his decision. Futher findings revealed that she was the best in her secondary school who made history by recording 9A’s in the west African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE ), but on that faithful day she was late to her UME exams. That was how she failed JAMB.
It is so obvious that many candidates are seen doing some print out on their exams day and this warrant their lateness to exams. It is adviseable for candidates to do all necessary things prior to the day of their exams.  If your exams center is in a long distance or in another state, try to be there atleast a day before and get to know your center.

7. Computer illiteracy

Yes we are in a computer a computer age where computer and other computer related devices are easily accessd, yet computer illiteracy still rocks among young school leavers. Since 2014, Jamb had progressed from the rostrum of PPT to the rostrum of CBT which made way for the utilization of computers for  the exams.
It is appaling that many candidates still cannot operate this computers during exams and thereby failure comes in. It is adviceable for can didates to undergo Computer Base Training before  the day of their exams.

8. Incomplete materials

Yes, this has possed a problem to many candidates. The exams day is like an injury period which a simple mistake can hurt for life. Before departing for the exams hall check out for your materials such as Jamb print out, Passports etc. Read the necessary instructions and adhere to it. Where you are to bring a colour print-out please don’t bring a black and white print out.

9. Deafness to attendance

You must be all ears while writing your exams. Are you writing with your ears? Of course not, so candidates have to pay adequate attention to attendance while writing the exams.  Your attendance indicates your present in the exams and failure to answer to it means that you did not write the exams.

10. Unconducive/unequipped exams center

One major thing that poses a threat to JAMB in Nigeria is their poor and unequipped exams environment. These  have  pose a psychological effect on many students. The progression from PPT (Paper and pencil test) to CBT (Computer Base Test) has not change Jamb’s poor Examination Environment.

11. Misinformation

Many students are misinform about  Jamb exams. They are given fake information which has no relationship to the afore mentioned exams. It is a known facts that  are many myths and conceptions surrounding the exams and the exams body. All this should me taken with a pinch of salt as many of them are rumors and not facts.

One of your biggest responsibilities as a parent is teaching her how to view her world and herself. Everything you say to her shapes this perception. You might not be aware that some of the things you say in the hopes of helping her, could actually be harmful to her growth. Be careful of what you say to her and avoid these six phrases:
1. “He’s mean to you because he likes you”
When their daughter comes home complaining (or even crying) that a boy pulled her hair and called her a “doo doo face,” many parents explain it away by telling her that boys do mean things to girls they like. That idea teaches a false and destructive lesson. Essentially, saying “he’s mean to you because he likes you,” equates physical and verbal abuse with love.
Instead, teach your daughter that love calls for respect and kindness and it is never acceptable for someone else to hurt her – especially in the name of love.
2. “You’re so pretty!”
Complimenting your daughter on her looks may seem like a harmless boost to her confidence, but it can actually rupture her view of herself. A constant stream of “hey, gorgeous girl” and “you pretty princess!” is going to mix with all the movie stars, boys and bullies who tell her the same thing: her appearance is her most important attribute.
But it’s not.
She can’t control how she looks. She can’t help if she gets acne, if her hair isn’t flawless, if she is in an accident that covers her body with burn scars or if she grows older and gets wrinkles. Believing that physical appearance – something she has no control over – is the most important trait, will set your daughter up for heartbreak.
Help your daughter be confident in her appearance, not by teaching her that she’s beautiful, but by teaching her that her looks don’t matter. What matters is what she does and who she becomes.
3. “I need to go on a diet”
Even if you’re diligent in avoiding remarks on your daughter’s physical appearance, she’s going to grow up believing that it’s important if you let her hear your remarks about your own appearance.
Don’t let her see you eyeing your B.utt with disdain or the diet shakes you keep in the P@ntry. This will only teach your daughter that appearance is something to be dissatisfied with. Develop confidence in your own appearance and don’t project your own insecurities, because your self-conscious behavior will encourage your daughter to develop insecurities of her own.
4. “I was never good at math”
Many parents don’t worry about saying this because it’s not putting down their daughter, it’s putting down themselves. However, studies prove that a parent’s attitude towards a subject or skill directly affects a child’s ability to do that skill.
Furthermore, beware of telling your daughter something “is easy.” This attitude can be damaging because if you tell her something is easy when it’s hard for her, she will feel inferior and incompetent for not being able to do it. Instead of telling her “it’s easy” say, “I know you can do it!”
5. “Girls aren’t good at that”
Says who? Even if there’s a general trend of girls not being good at something or interested in something, it doesn’t mean they can’t be. Maybe your daughter will be the one that excels above everyone else or maybe “girls aren’t good at it” simply because people tell them they aren’t. Your daughter’s $ex only determines her capability if she allows it to.
6. “You can’t watch that”
When you tell your daughter what she can and can’t watch, you are teaching her to depend on your censorship. Of course you should set standards for what kind of media is appropriate for your daughter to consume. However, instead of telling her “you can’t watch that,” teach her the principles to make good media choices for herself. This will enable her to make good decisions throughout her life.
Instead of popping endless Viagra pills or the local, less expensive alternatives, the following foods can enhance your performance in the bedroom.

1. Bananas
On its own, the shape of bananas is libido-inspiring. Better still, banana contains an enzyme known as bromelain, which is believed to increase libido and reverse impotence in men. Additionally, they are good sources of potassium and B vitamins like riboflavin, which increase the body’s overall energy levels, says Professor of Physiology at the University of Florida, Penelope Perkins-Veazie.

2. Avocado
Avocado doesn’t just look like testicle, it also contains high levels of folic acid, which helps metabolise proteins, thus giving you more energy. Reproduction specialist, George Brewer, notes that avocado also contain vitamin B6 (a nutrient that increases male hormone production) and potassium (which helps regulate a woman’s thyroid gland), two elements that help increase libido in both men and women.

3. Nuts
Nuts are a prime source of essential fatty acids. These are vital, as they provide the raw material for a man’s healthy production of hormones, says .

4. Eggs
A Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine, Christos Mantzoros, says eggs are high in vitamins B6 and B5, which help to balance hormone levels and fight stress, two things that are crucial to a healthy libido. Eggs are also a symbol of fertility and rebirth.

5. Liver
Liver may indeed increase a slowed-down libido, says nutritionist,

6. Figs
These are high in amino acids, which are believed to increase libido. Perkins-Veazie notes that they can also improve $exual stamina. Furthermore, the shape of a fresh fig and the sweet, juicy taste are two tangible aspects that are highly pleasurable to the human senses.

7. Garlic
Brewer says garlic contains allicin, an ingredient that increases blood flow to the $exual organs. As such, it’s a highly effective herb to help increase libido. You can take it in capsule form, or use it as food enhancer while cooking.

8. Chocolate
Chocolate contains theobromine — an alkaloid that is very similar to caffeine. It also contains phenylethylamine, a chemical believed to produce the feeling of “being in love.” Experts add that dark chocolate has a massive amount of anti-oxidants, which are great for the body in general, as they help maintain the immune system.

9. Salmon
Nutritionists say salmon is a great source of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA that help maintain the fluidity of our cell membranes. Brewer says they keep our cardiovascular systems healthy by reducing inflammation, preventing excessive blood clotting, and keeping fats in the blood at healthy levels. The same omega-3 fats are also found in other fatty fish like tuna, black cod, halibut, and mackerel, nutritionists say.

10. Watermelon
Watermelon is rich in a chemical called citrulline, which helps make nitric oxide that dilates blood vessels. It also contains the phytonutrient lycopene and beta-carotene, which act as antioxidants, protecting our cells.

11. Green vegetables
Fresh spinach and other green vegetables contain high amounts of chlorophyll, which purifies the blood and helps to increase blood flow. Some also contain essential fatty acids like omega 3 and 6. They’re a rich source of vitamins, including the fat-soluble A and K, and C, as well as minerals that keep the body rich in alkaline and improve energy levels.

Here are the seven tests of true love. If you’re asking yourself, “Does he love me?” see how your relationship measures up first.
1. Does he ALWAYS treat you with respect?
If his respect for you is inconsistent or only occurs sparingly, your relationship cannot flourish. In love, you cannot pick and choose the time and place to be kind, considerate, and respectful. Being considerate and respectful one day and rude and inconsiderate the next is not an option. Your partner either is all of these things or he is not. It’s really that simple.
2. Do his actions match his words?
We all know the axiom “actions speak louder than words.” To know if he really loves you, you only need to observe his behavior. Does he talk to you with affection, care, and respect, but then bumps you out of the way when you order lunch or dinner? Does he tell you how much he loves you, but ignores you completely when you tell him what you would like to do that day?
The truth is, actions really do speak louder than words! Never fool yourself into thinking that his actions don’t matter. Put simply, he IS what he does. Ignore this notion at your peril, because it is actually the best test of whether he is capable of really loving you.
3. Are you an equal partner?
When someone really loves you, they treat you as an equal partner — as a person with an equal voice (and equal value) in your relationship. If he makes all of the significant decisions in your relationship and expects you to follow his directives as a second-class citizen, then he does NOT really love you. In a successful marriage, both partners share equally in the relationship.
4. Can you trust him with your life and sacred honor?
Can you honestly say, “I trust him more that life itself”? Is your trust in him unequivocal and honestly without hesitation? Bottom line: one of the underlying qualities of a great marriage is complete trust in each other. If you don’t trust your man without question, then you really need to reconsider any long-term relationship with him.
5. Does he tell you he loves you?
Does he declare his love and adoration for you often and without prodding? Does his love for you come naturally and consistently? When you love someone, you tell them. And don’t fall for that old line that goes like this: “I don’t need to tell her I love her because she knows.” This notion is just plain wrong! You need to hear it (we all do). If he doesn’t tell you that he loves you, then your relationship has a problem.
6. Can he imagine life without you?
When you are in love, you cannot imagine life without the one you love! So try this question on him: “Honey, do you love me more than life itself? Can you imagine life without me?” If his answers make you wonder about the depth of his commitment to you, he doesn’t truly love you.
One thing we know for sure is that someone in love cannot envision a life without their someone special. If your guy suggests otherwise, he is not the man you should commit your life to.
7. Is he ALWAYS there for you?
In the end, a man who really loves you will always be there for you through the good times and the bad, through thick and thin. Love has no conditions. A man deeply in love with a woman wants her when she is at her best or her worst. And being there for you is something he does in a way that makes you feel good (versus feeling guilty). He makes you excited about where your relationship is going. He raises you higher than you could ever be without him.
More often than not, a happy life has to do with the quality of your relationship with your sweetheart.
With so much work that is put in to them, relationships are difficult to lose. So the question is, why do some relationships fail?
Let’s take a look at these 7 reasons:
1. Not putting your relationship first
Society doesn’t teach us to value our relationships or about the daily commitment that healthy relationships require. Sometimes our careers and our kids take the lead and our relationships come third, fourth, or even tenth on the list of obligations.Relationships take quality time and commitment. For example, if you stop having $ex, the desire to will completely fade, or if you stop talking about your hopes and dreams with your spouse, you will grow further apart.
Just like with most things in life, you receive what you give.
2. You seek external validation
Sometimes people are not comfortable with who they are and they end up looking for validation through a significant other. When your sense of self is constantly unstable, you look for validation elsewhere.
When you don’t have a clear sense of who you are or what you want in life, you will forever keep trying to mold yourself to become what you think other people want to be. Relationships are about loving and accepting one another as you truly are.
3. Low self-esteem
For both partners to feel valued and secure in a relationship, they both need to have self-esteem and feel secure with who they are. When a person has low self-esteem, they depend on a relationship for security, which can backfire and lead to doubt. Having confidence in yourself and in your significant other is the healthiest thing you can do for your relationship.
4. Infidelity
This one is obvious…
5. Controlling behavior
If both partners in a relationship are not equal, it can cause conflict. However, it’s not as clear-cut and may take some time to manifest in the relationship.
Controlling behavior can fall under the desire or need to control one another’s finances, needing the other’s permission to do something or making decisions without consulting each other first.
6. Narcissism
There is no room for selfish behavior in a relationship. Narcissist’s only look out for their personal interests and don’t care about their spouse’s day-to-day life.
This, in turn, can build resentment as the selfish individual constantly uses charm and manipulation to get what they want.
Relationships are partnerships, which means they are based on compassion and compromise. If one half of the relationship refuses to compromise and leaves the other person out, things will not end well.
7. Money
Money by itself isn’t going to break up a relationship, but how both of you manage it will. Couples who fight over their finances and degrade one another on how their expenses are used are setting their relationships up for failure. If one partner blames the other for debts or for not pulling their weight, anger, blame and resentment can start to settle in.
Relationships are complicated, but they also evolve. Sure, all these 7 reasons by can bring a relationship to a end, but at the same time they can also be avoided with awareness and a desire to do better.
